Premier Dance Performance & Community Showcase
The Community Dance Showcase features an eclectic array of dance happening in halls and rooms across Mount Gambier. From Hip Hop to ballerinas, rock ’n’ rollers to highland, contemporary dancers to belly dancers, cultural dance and more, Mount Gambier has them all and they are ready to dance!
For Fringe Mount Gambier 2020, Sydney choreographer Cass Mortimer Eipper (Sydney Dance Company/ QLD Ballet) came to Mount Gambier to create an original dance work with some of the region’s many talented young and aspiring professional dancers, “Linger ‘till Dawn”. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, this performance did not occur, the incredible hard work of the dancers not to be seen. Covid-19 disrupted the Arts Industry as never seen before, work was disrupted, some lost and never to be delivered, “Linger ‘til Dawn” is one such work. Fortunately, the final rehearsals were captured on film, and we invite audiences to enjoy this incredible original work, and what it would have been!
Fringe Mount Gambier invites YOU to come and Experience Fringe across 3 venues, Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre, Cave Garden and Mount Gambier Showgrounds, with a smorgasbord of life music, comedy, visual art, and dance – come and experience Fringe! Our Experience Fringe curators for 2020 are Anya Mckee, Scott Maxwell & Mike Bakker and Anthony Hamilton.
Fringe Mount Gambier acknowledges the Boandik People as the traditional custodians of the land and water our city sits upon today.
We respect and recognise the deep feelings of attachment and the spiritual relationship Indigenous people have with the land and water.
